5A – Identifying Local Opportunities

1. “Massey Services confirms ransomware attack” Orlando Sentinel  https://www.orlandosentinel.com/business/os-bz-massey-data-breach-investigation-20200128-th4g7x7hpzbrjjenpv6wnexraq-story.html Massey Services, a company I once used for my restaurant in Orlando for my pest control needs had a ransomware attack. A ransomware is a cyberattack but with the added attempt to extort money in order to retrieve or save or regain your data from the attackers.  Massey has a major data breach on their hands, but most of all their customers information is at risk. If Massey would have been more current concerning their Firewall system, Massey could have most likely avoided the attack. Constant security updates are a must in today's digital day and age, moi matter the size and scope of the company.  Massey is a prominent Orlando based company that has been around for years. There are lots of Cyber Security companies that could take this opportunity to improve on Massey...

4A – Forming An Opportunity Belief

4A – Forming An Opportunity Belief 1) Your beginning point. Do you have a belief, supposition, or feeling than an opportunity exists? This belief may have come from your completion of prior exercises. Only select one belief. I believe there is an opportunity in replacing or improving on the Canvas digital Platform.  2) Describe your belief. Be sure to include a few things. First, what is the unmet need? The unmet need is all the time wasted on Canvas every semester in trying to figure out every Professor’s way in which they arrange his dashboard concerning finding assignments, lectures, quizzes, etc. Not to mention connecting to digital books and outside ...

My Entrepreneurship Story

Image
“My Entrepreneurship Story” is based on my own experiences. Since the age of 15 (I’m 49 now) I worked at numerous restaurants and in various positions from dishwasher, cook, server, to general manager. Three of those years I worked for my uncle who owned a pizza place on Madeira Beach in St. Petersburg, Florida. After working 80+ hours a week for three years I came to the realization that I could be doing the work for myself, so without my uncle’s blessing I ventured off on my own. In 1996 at the age of 26, I saved up $10,000 of my own money/credit cards and took out a bank loan for $37,000 to land my first restaurant in College Park, FL (downtown Orlando). Before there was a Sports Bar on every corner, (maybe every other corner) I had an idea of marrying two concepts; take a tried and true old school concept, authentic brick oven Brooklyn New York Pizza and combine it with a Sports Bar atmosphere with full bar and a TV wherever you looked. Being a musician since the age of 13 I ...
